Identities of two friends killed in White County crash released


WHITE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Two people are dead following a crash in White County Saturday afternoon.

White County Sheriff Patrick Shafer said the driver of the car was Dakota Coffin, 18, of Reynolds and Kandi Haygood, 21, of Idaville was the passenger. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Shafer said the two were traveling southbound on County Road 300 East and entered the intersection of State Road 18 and 300 East around 4:30 p.m. That’s when a truck traveling eastbound on State Road 18 collided with the car.

The two vehicles came to rest in the middle of a field.

The truck had both a male and female passenger. They were taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette with non-life threatening injuries. Both of their names have not been released.
