INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Three people were shot and killed overnight at an east side apartment complex, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.

This happened around 11:30 Sunday night at the Marina Apartments, near 21st Street and Post Road.

Police have released very little information, but they say they don’t think this was a random act of violence and they have leads into who is responsible.

When they arrived, police say they found one man who was shot lying outside the apartment. Two more victims, a man and a woman, were found inside the apartment. They had also been shot. All three died at the scene. Police haven’t released their names. It’s also not known if they lived at the apartment complex.

Police say they did find evidence of drugs inside the apartment. Autopsies are expected Monday.

Earlier Sunday, one man was killed and a woman was wounded during a shooting at an Indianapolis clothing store. Police say two teenagers have been arrested in that shooting.

Last year, Indianapolis had 125 homicides, its highest tally in seven years. This year, violence is on track to outpace 2013, according to the Associated Press.
