Names released in stabbing on Lafayette’s south side

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Lafayette Police Department have released the names of the individuals involved in a Tuesday morning stabbing on Lafayette’s south side.

At approximately 8:36 a.m., the police responded to Edgelea Drive in Lafayette for a report of stabbing. When officers arrived on scene, they found Benito Carmona-Vasquez, 38, of Lafayette with minor wounds to his right forearm and elbow area.

Benito was transported to St Elizabeth East Hospital and has since been treated and released.

Officers discovered that the incident occurred earlier Tuesday morning on N. 18th Street. They went to the residence of Kimberly Winchester, 51. Winchester was taken into custody for domestic battery and battery with a deadly weapon.

Officers said Winchester was then transported to St Elizabeth Central Hospital due to unrelated medical issues. She was eventually admitted into their facility on those medical concerns.
