LINDEN, Ind. (WLFI) – All aboard Friday for opening day of the Linden Depot Museum’s 2014 season.
The Historic Linden Depot Museum opens its season on Friday, April 4 from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is open every weekend, Friday through Sunday, at those same times until the end of October.
The museum has also added a little something new this year, a facility that houses an all-new HO model railroad. But its not your run-of-the-mill railroad, this model will feature an animated circus attraction.
President of the museum Gary Vierk said the room in which it is housed features circus memorabilia from Indiana circuses. He said railroads played an important role in the movement of circuses around the country, and Indiana was home to several of those.
The restored 1908 Linden Depot showcases many railroad artifacts and memorabilia, especially from the Monon and Nickel Plate railroads.
The Linden Depot is located at 520 N. Main Street in Linden. Admission is $4 for adults, and $1 for children 12 and under. Annual memberships for individuals or families are available.
