LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Finding quality child care is important to most parents. Now a group in Lafayette is helping parents find what fits best for them.
Paths to Quality is a program that ranks child care centers in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties. They unveiled a new website during a meeting at Lafayette City Hall Thursday.
The site ranks centers on levels of quality from minimum state standards, to centers that take an active role in the child’s education.
Program Director Victoria Matney said high quality daycare is important to a child’s early education.
“If I want my son or daughter prepared for kindergarten, first grade, second grade or third grade, I need high quality childcare. I need to know when I’m going to work, my son or daughter is safe. Not only safe, but they’re not just sitting in front of a television,” Matney said.
