LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital with injuries Friday night after being hit by a vehicle in Lafayette.

Lafayette police said it happened around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 38 and Kingsway Drive, in front of Texas Roadhouse near the Tippecanoe Mall. Officer said the pedestrian was crossing State Road 38, heading towards the mall and was hit by a vehicle heading east. Officers say it’s too early to say who was at fault in the crash.

The pedestrian was taken to a Franciscan St. Elizabeth East hospital with injuries that are described as non-life threatening. The driver was taken to the hospital for blood work, which is standard procedure for a serious crash. Officers said the driver was being 100 percent cooperative.

No names have been released at this time.

One of the eastbound lanes was closed for an hour and a half while officers investigated.
