LAFAYETTE – It’s been 69 years since the end of World War II and the Holocaust. Over the next four days a conference will honor and pass along stories from those events.

The 33rd Greater Lafayette Holocaust Remembrance Conference beings Saturday evening at Lawson Hall in Room 1142.

This year’s theme is titled Hidden Within. The conference will discuss how people used caves to hide from the Nazis.

Holocaust survivor Johanna Gartenhaus said the conference helps younger generations understand the magnitude of events that happened during the Holocaust.

“They think of it as something that happened in the past. We don’t worry about it anymore. But those, who are leftover, do worry about it,” said Gartenhaus

The conference runs until Tuesday.
