ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) – The Attica Fire Department has wrapped up its investigation into what caused a building to explode back in February.

Attica Fire Chief Ed O’Farrell said there was a leak in an exterior main gas line. He said gas was able to seep through the ground and enter the building through the basement.

Firefighters believe the explosion occurred after the furnace inside the building kicked on. O’Farrell says the building was dormant at the time and has since been torn down.

There were no injuries in that explosion.
