PERU, Ind. (WLFI) – A Bunker Hill man is arrested after Indiana State Police said he used his roommate’s bank information and made withdrawals without permission.

Indiana State Police said they arrested Donald Coblentz, 36, of Bunker Hill on Tuesday morning following a nine-month long criminal investigation.

Detectives started the investigation after receiving information that Coblentz had allegedly made unauthorized ATM withdrawals and wrote illicit checks utilizing the account of his roommate.

Detectives revealed that Coblentz had obtained his roommate’s debit card and personal checks. They said from June to July of last year, Coblentz used the roommate’s bank information to make withdrawals and purchases totaling more than $1,000.

Coblentz was arrested on preliminary charges of fraud and theft. He was booked into the Miami County Jail with a surety bond of $22,000.
