Walter Talcott leads McCutcheon past West Lafayette

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – An ace performance by Walter Talcott led the McCutcheon Mavericks to a 2-0 win in seven innings over West Lafayette on Wednesday at Bob Friend Field.

Talcott looked sharp on the hill, West Lafayette managed just one hit off of the McCutcheon junior pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out six during his seven innings of work.

Jordan Cebulla couldn’t get it done on the hill for West Lafayette, taking a tough loss for the Red Devils. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

McCutcheon never trailed after scoring two runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Myles Hann which prooved to be the game winning hit.
