WHITE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – White County authorities are searching for a man who cut off his ankle bracelet during work release Tuesday.

Sheriff Pat Shafer told News 18 that White County Community Corrections called his office early Wednesday morning about a bracelet that had been tampered with.

Shafer said Robert Clawson Jr., 31, went to work Tuesday afternoon at Jordan Manufacturing Company in Monticello. During work, he cut off his bracelet and left.

The sheriff’s office is continuing to look for Clawson.

Shafer said he faces a criminal charge of failure to return to lawful detention.

Clawson is 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighs 120 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
