Road work updates for Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – There are plenty of ongoing road construction projects within Tippecanoe County that can snarl up traffic. Although the nicer weather will add more projects to the list, some are nearing completion.

Thursday, officials with Lafayette City Engineering Office said crews began paving Kossuth Street. Milestone Contractors will have workers in the area between 18th and Main streets. There will be signage in the area.

According The Indiana Department of Transportation, 20 minutes closures began on State Road 25 in both directions Thursday morning. CSX Railroad crews are repairing the concrete area on the State Road 25 Bridge, which is approximately one mile west of U.S. 231 in Tippecanoe County.

INDOT spokeswoman Debbie Calder said in a news release, that these temporary stops will occur in 20 minute increments during the repairs. Traffic will be allowed to clear out before motorists are stopped again. Calder said police officers will be assisting with the closures.

Beginning Monday, April 14, County Road 550 South will be closing to allow replacement of the Tippecanoe County Culvert SHF309 and work associated with it. Fairfield Contractors said in a news release that crews will be closing County Road 550 South, between County Road 500 East and U.S. 52, for 15 days or less.
