Jeff HS students learn about future career opportunities

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Students from Jeff High School got the opportunity to look at future career paths at an event put on by Subaru of Indiana Automotive and Purdue’s College of Technology.

The students were able to go through engineering and technology training, as well as robotics training. They also heard from professionals in a variety of the technical fields. Engineering and Technology teacher Justin Myers says the event gave students the chance to learn about careers that are available to them locally.

“When you tie the community to the high school and to the employers, kids begin to see that they can have great paying jobs and a wonderful opportunity to continue to make Lafayette and Greater Lafayette the great community that it is,” said Myers.

It’s also great to inform students about the need for highly-technical skills that are needed to do the work, Myers added. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
