WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Tuesday marks the one year anniversary of the Boston Marathon Bombing. For one local man, it will be quite emotional when he returns to the course.
West Lafayette Track coach Lane Custer and seven others will be making the trip to Boston.
Custer ran in the 2013 Boston Marathon, but an injury kept him from finishing.
The trip will be Custer’s second time participating in the marathon. Custer said it’s going to be emotional once he gets there.
“When you’re going after something like a marathon, it takes a lot of commitment, training and getting yourself ready for the race. Our group is in really good shape and ready to do it, but this is different than anything else,” said Custer.
On race day Custer and other runners from his group will wear shirts with names of the victims in the bombing.
