WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita talked money and debt with a group of people he says need to hear his message the most.

He walked through a power point presentation on the country’s budget deficit and national debt in front of about 35 Purdue students Monday evening.

The event was hosted by the Collegiate Farm Bureau, but Rokita also invited both the College Republicans and College Democrats to attend.

After the presentation, students asked questions on topics like healthcare reform and getting rid of income taxes in favor of taxes on spending. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
