At approximately 7:13 a.m., ISP responded to a single vehicle crash on I-65 at mile-marker 196, three miles south of the U.S. 231 exit.

According to Trooper Darrick Scott’s investigation, Jonathan Quarterman, 32, of Louisville, Ga was injured in the wreck.

Scott said Quarterman was traveling north on I-65 when his semi and flatbed trailer went into the median, hit the median cable barrier, rolled and came to rest on its side.

Quarterman suffered a back and neck injury in the crash and was transported by ambulance to a Lafayette hospital. Scott said he was wearing a seat belt, which prevented him from being more severely injured.

ISP said the investigation is ongoing. They do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

Quarterman was issued a citation for speed too fast to avoid a collision, according to ISP.
