LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Emergency crews were called to a house fire in Lafayette Wednesday morning.
Crews responded to a fire at 2209 Shasta Drive in Lafayette around 7:00 a.m., said the Lafayette Fire Department. First firefighters on scene said smoke was coming out of a single story home, which was later determined to be vacant.
After further investigation, firefighters revealed that the fire started in the attic area of the home. Although natural and incendiary causes have been ruled out, electrical failure has not been ruled out at this time, according to fire officials.
