Pediatrician talks signs of child abuse, ways to report it

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – When children are nurtured, they can grow up to be happy and healthy adults, said a doctor with IU Health Arnett.

However, Dr. James Bien said when they lack an attachment to a caring adult, receive inconsistent nurturing or experience harsh discipline, the consequences can affect their life-long health and relationships with others.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. On Wednesday, Dr. Bien with IU Health Arnett stopped by News 18 This Morning to talk about signs of child abuse and how to report it. Watch the full interview with News 18 by clicking on the video above.
