LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette’s Habitat for Humanity is partnering with Two Cities Church for the Good Friday Blood Drive.
Both organizations have set a personal goal of acquiring 30 units of blood, hoping to get 60 units by the end of the day.
When asked the reason behind holding a blood drive on Friday, Myron Davis of Two Cities Church said, “It’s community service. The Indiana Blood Center reported that they were 59 units short of meeting the area hospitals’ blood supply, and that’s a very significant shortage.”
Habitat’s Doug Taylor added, “We’re asking our volunteers and supporters…we’re asking them to help the community with giving their blood.”
The Good Friday Blood Drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the YWCA at 605 N. Sixth Street in Lafayette.
