30K eggs to be ‘hidden’ at Ivy Tech for Easter celebration

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Community members are invited to attend Easter festivities a day early this weekend.

Saturday, dental assisting students at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette will host their fourth annual Easter Egg Hunt and Sidewalk Carnival from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The event will be held at the Lafayette campus at 3101 S. Creasy Lane. The money raised will support the dental assisting program, while providing community education about the importance of oral health.

Event organizers said more than 30,000 eggs will be “hidden” for age-specific egg hunts.

The sidewalk carnival will feature pictures with the Easter Bunny, more than 40 carnival games, a bounce house, petting zoo, face painting, balloon animals, dancing characters, clowns and entertainment.

A free concert by rock and blues band “Miller” will follow from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Egg hunt times for each age group are listed below:

Ages 0 to 2 – 11:30 a.m.
Ages 3 to 5 – 12:30 p.m.
Ages 6 to 9 – 1:30 p.m.
Ages 10 and up – 2:30 p.m.
