Heart Ball raises money and awareness

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – More than 100 people came out to the Heart Ball Saturday night to raise awareness and money in the fight against heart disease.

The Heart Ball is one of the American Heart Association’s largest fundraising events in Lafayette.

The ball took place at 6:00 Saturday night at the Lafayette Country Club. The event included a silent auction, dinner, and dancing.

Brad Denton’s son Isaac was born with several heart defects and said events like this are great for the community.

“When you see several hundred people show up to an event like this it absolutely warms your heart to know that that many people care,” said Denton. “It’s not just us that have been effected by this, most of the ones here, by some sort, have been effected by this as well.”

The Heart Ball is expected to raise nearly $100,000.
