Drowsy driver rolls car, slows I-65 traffic

TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – Tippecanoe County deputies say a drowsy driver rolled her vehicle slowing traffic on I-65 earlier Monday evening.

It happened around 6:15 p.m. when a car heading north went off the road at mile marker 167, about a mile south of the Dayton exit.

Witnesses told police the car swerved left, then right, before going off the road, rolling at least twice. Investigators believe the female driver fell asleep at the wheel.

Two people inside the car were treated and released at IU Health Arnett Hospital.

Traffic was slowed to one lane but both lanes were reopened within about an hour.
