Harrison cruises past Lafayette Jeff at Loeb

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Harrison Raiders secured an HCC series sweep against Lafayette Jeff by picking up the 6-0 win at Loeb Stadium.

Harrison took the lead for good in the second inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double by sophomore Matthew Roop.

The Raiders added to their lead with three runs in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Nick Torres and a two-run single by Rhett Baxter to put the game away for good.

Jeep Morehouse reached base three times in the game for the Raiders which included a double in the seventh inning.

Harrison starter Matt McConnell kept Lafayette Jeff off the scoreboard for all seven innings he toed the rubber. The junior allowed no runs on four hits while striking out seven.

Ethan Smith took the loss for the Bronchos. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked six, struck out five, and allowed five runs before leaving the game due to injury.
