LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police have called off the search for a missing 13-year-old after the teenager was found unharmed.

Robert Cole Faulkner was found just before 12:45 a.m. Thursday at a home on the 1100 block of Kensington Drive.

Police said the teenager walked up to the house and either rang the bell or knocked on the door to get the homeowner’s attention. The homeowner then called police.

Robert told police he was inside Glen Acres Elementary the majority of the time officers were looking for him, but police could not confirm that.

He originally went missing from 10 Cedar Court around 6 p.m. Wednesday. That’s an area just north of the intersection of Greenbush Street and Sagamore Parkway, behind Kirby Risk.

About 20 officers helped set up a perimeter in the area and neighbors were on foot and in cars helping with the search. Officer Dan Long says a PHI medical helicopter was also called to help with the search.

Robert has Dandy-Walker syndrome, which is a developmental brain delay.

An original Nixle Alert said Robert is 15 years old. News 18 was able to confirm that he is 13 years old.
