WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Purdue President Mitch Daniels discussed manufacturing with members of the National Academy of Engineering.

Twenty members were at the Kurz Purdue Technology Center Thursday afternoon. Daniels spoke with members about Indiana and its manufacturing economy. Daniels said it’s important to show how Indiana and Purdue can help manufacturing companies.

“Our role in trying to contribute to the Indiana is squarely about the subject of this conference. How can we reinvigorate manufacturing in this country, make it the most productive in the world and have it add as it’s been adding in Indiana the last few years thousands and thousands of high paying jobs,” said Daniels.

Daniels was one of eight speakers at Thursday’s symposium. Thursday’s regional meeting focused on the economic development through technology.
