WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – On Saturday, hundreds will take part the march to help prevent premature births. The Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds will be the site for the 76th annual March of Dimes March for Babies. A near-record crowd is expected for the event.
Beth Siple will be one of those participants. In 2009, the March of Dimes helped the Siple family after their son was born 12 weeks premature. Since then, Beth said they have looked for ways to give back.
“We’ve chosen the March of Dimes as a way for us to kind of give back and recognize and raise awareness to other families, other babies that are not born as planned,” said Siple.
Registration for Saturday’s event starts at 8 a.m., with the march beginning at 9:30 a.m. Proceeds from the march will help fund research to prevent premature births and other health issues in babies.
