WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Popular early voting sites opened up on Saturday with about a week to go until the primary election.
Four early voting sites for the May 6 primary opened at the Pay Less Supermarkets in Lafayette and West Lafayette. Voting at the Pay Less sites will be open from noon until 7 p.m. daily until May 3.
Tippecanoe County Board of Elections Co-Director Jared Bond said voters can come out to beat the rush.
“There hasn’t been any waiting in the sites today and I expect that will probably be the same. We don’t guarantee that there will never be a line, but it is certainly going to be fast than on election day,” said Bond.
Bond says about 30 percent of voters come out before election day. About 80 percent of early voters in the county cast their votes at a Pay Less location.
