Seven-year-old boy killed in shooting

NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Police said a young boy is dead after an accidental shooting Saturday afternoon.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call to a shooting at 12:26 p.m. off 5211 W. County Road 1100 in North Ligonier.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Jaylin Miller, 7, who was killed by a single gunshot.

Police said Jaylin and his brother were out in the yard with a gun, trying to kill ground moles when the gun accidentally discharged, according to police.

The Noble County Sheriff’s Department and the Noble County Coroner’s Office ruled the shooting as accidental.
