WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (The Exponent) – In the fall of 2015, Purdue’s Greek community will welcome a new sorority to campus: Kappa Delta.

The University’s Panhellenic Council has chosen to invite Kappa Delta to colonize at Purdue for the first time following a presentation the sorority’s national headquarters presented to the Council in 2011.

“(The) Panhellenic Council gave them a time frame of between 2014 and 2016 and recently refined that timeline and decided that fall 2015 is the best time for Kappa Delta to come to Purdue,” said Jessica Knerr, assistant director of fraternity, sorority and cooperative life.

Purdue is home to the third largest Greek community in the country, with more than 5,000 students participating in fraternities or sororities. Kappa Delta will join 17 existing sororities of the National Panhellenic Council.
