WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Purdue Sports) – Purdue women’s golf junior Aurora Kan was named first team All-Big Ten by the conference office on Tuesday, following her NCAA Central Regional qualification announcement on Monday night.
It marks the second straight all-conference honor for Kan, who earned second-team honors last season, the 18th straight season a Boilermaker has been on the All-Big Ten team and the 10th consecutive year they’ve had a first-team honoree.
Kan has had a solid junior campaign, winning three tournaments, posting five top-10 showings and nine top-20 performances, including her recent 18th-place tie at the Big Ten Championships. She’s averaged 74.2 strokes per round this season, including four rounds of par or better, and posted a career-best score of 68 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in February.
Kan’s season continues a week from Thursday, heading to Stillwater, Okla., for the NCAA Central Regional Championships. Set to play at Karsten Creek Golf Club, Kan will chase one of two individual qualifiers for the NCAA Championships at the regional tournament, looking to keep the Boilermakers’ national championship presence streak alive. Purdue has played at the NCAA Championships in 14 consecutive years.
