TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – A traffic stop results in charges for a Lafayette woman who was wanted on a warrant in Kentucky.

Prosecutors said Tiffany Burnside, 21, gave officers a false name when she was pulled over at 15th and Alabama streets. After she was placed in handcuffs, prosecutors said Burnside escaped from the handcuffs, got out of the car and ran off.

Police found her inside a home on Center Street, which she entered without permission. She was arrested at this location.

Prosecutors said Burnside later provided police with her real name after being asked about the discrepancies.

Burnside faces charges of resisting law enforcement, escape, residential entry, theft and false informing.
