Sedan crashes into tractor on State Road 28

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Local law enforcement are reminding drivers to keep an eye out for farm equipment on roads. The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving a car and farm tractor at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, which sent two people to the hospital.

Deputy Chuck Shumard said the driver of the sedan did not not see the tractor turning while attempting to pass. The sedan crashed into the back tire of a tractor.

Shumard said with crop planting season is here, drivers need pay attention for farm equipment on roads and drive more carefully.

“If you see a farm implement truck or a tractor hauling whatever it may be, just take your time. Find out what they’re doing first  before you make a pass, because you never know what they may do. They may turn left or right. You just have to pay attention,” said Shumard.

The driver and passenger of the sedan were were taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital with minor injuries.
