LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Preparations are underway for Subura Indiana Automotive’s 2016 expansion.
Construction crews are reconfiguring SIA’s pond and preparing to build a new 300,000 square foot paint shop.
SIA Executive Vice President Tom Easterday said they are looking to make the new building more energy efficient.
“We’re going to be installing a lot of new energy efficiency items in there. Everything from energy efficient lighting to various. We’re going to make it easier for the waste streams to be taken from the building for efficiency,” said Easterday
Construction will begin on the paint shop within the next month and will take nearly two years to complete.
In addition, SIA will begin construction on the northeast and northwest side of the building for a new engine shop and stamping press.
