Vettes for Vets

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – More than 100 corvettes were lined up outside the Indiana Veterans Home Saturday afternoon as part of Vettes for Vets

The third annual event was put on by the Lafayette Corvette and Star City Corvette clubs. It serves as a kick off to car show season for both groups, drawing car lovers and those wanting to thank veterans for their service.

Monetary and other donations were taken at the show and put into the recreation department at the veterans home.

“We have a lot of veterans that are in our club,” said Lisa Minier, vice president for the Lafayette Corvette Club. “It’s a great way for us to thank our club members who are veterans, as well as the veterans who have served in our community.”

The next area car show will be at Oerlikon Fairfield on Saturday, May 10. The Harrison Car and Bike Club will be host their fourth annual Car and Motorcycle Show. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
