BMV extends hours for primary election

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is extending its hours to help Hoosiers prepare for Tuesday’s primary election.

The extension will be in place for Monday and Tuesday only. Officials said it is so people can obtain state ID cards and driver’s licenses for use at polling places.

Branches will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday. Tuesday, primary election day, locations will be open from from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Driver’s tests will not be administered on Monday and Tuesday to ensure voters have immediate access to services.

License branches will resume normal business hours and operations on Wednesday.
