LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The president and CEO of Riggs Community Health Center is honored after 14 years of service.

Veronique LeBlanc started out at the health center as a part-time human resources director. Over the years she worked her way up to president and Chief Executive Officer.

On her last day on the job, LeBlanc was honored with a Sagamore of the Wabash award.

“Honestly, those of us who work in a not-for-profit organization, like Riggs, we do it because of the mission,” said LeBlanc. “I certainly appreciate the honor, but it’s humbling. I guess there are no words for that.”

LeBlanc said she does not have any plans for retirement quite yet.
