TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) – Tippecanoe County Superior Court IV will have a new judge as Laura Zeman takes the primary race beating out current Court IV Judge Gregory Donat.
Zeman won with 57 percent or 6,461 votes over Donat, who ended with 4,833 votes or 43 percent.
Zeman served as Superior Court V judge from 1997 to 2002. She said she expected a closer race and appreciates Judge Donat’s 30 years of service.
However, Zeman said there are changes that need to be made.
“I’m looking forward to taking the huge case load that’s there, and making it manageable, and making the court more accessible to the public by being open all five days of the week, plus night court,” Zeman told News 18 after the her victory.
There are no democratic candidates slated to run against Zeman right now, but those who wish to file have until June 30.
