LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Local organizations are teaming together to help educate people on how to become homeowners.

Faith Community Development, Habitat for Humanity, Homestead and New Chauncey Housing Incorporated are offering smart home-buying sessions. The hour-long sessions include agencies and groups that can help people raise their credit score, reduce debt and introduce them to home-buying programs.

Faith Community development director Lori Walters said it is an easy way for people to receive help.

“It certainly is an easy way and a no-commitment way for people in the public to come find out about it,” said Walters. “It’s low threatening. They just show up ask questions, get literature and move on.”

The free sessions are held once a month at 6 p.m. and are open to the public. View the list below to find the next session.
