WL police investigate armed robbery

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – West Lafayette police responded to a report of an armed robbery just before 3 a.m. Wednesday. It happened near the 200 block of E. Columbia Street.

According to police, a man claimed he was robbed by two white men armed with both a gun and knife. The robbers then took off westbound on Columbia with a bag that contained the victim’s wallet and laptop.

The bag was later recovered, with some of the missing items, in a dumpster on Littleton Street.

The victim described one of the robbers as wearing a black beanie-style hat and gray long-sleeved shirt. No description was given for the second robber.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.

Police said a K-9 search of the area was unsuccessful.
