WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – About 1,400 West Lafayette homes were without power for about two hours Thursday evening.
Power was also knocked out to several major intersections in West Lafayette including Sagamore Parkway and Salisbury Street.
Duke Energy crews say it all started when a tree limb fell onto a power line starting a fire. Crews had to turn off power so repairs could be made.

By about 10 p.m., the figure of customers without power was down to about 200. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
