PU police investigate possible sexual assault

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Purdue University police are looking into a possible sexual assault that was reported early Friday morning on Purdue’s campus.

Purdue police received a call at about 3 a.m. According to officers, a student said she had left Hicks Undergraduate Library and was walking in the 400 block of Wood Street when she was shoved, pulled into an alley and knocked to the ground. The victim told police the man briefly got on top of her before suddenly getting up and running away.

The person of interest was described as dark-skinned, with a ponytail and wearing dark clothing.

Officers said the investigation is ongoing.
