Mosey Down Main Street draws huge crowd

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Live local bands and vendors took to the streets as a part of this year’s first Mosey Down Main Street.

Members of the community began moseying down Main Street before the event began at 6 p.m. Saturday. There was even a Relay for Life flash mob. The goal of the Mosey is to promote downtown businesses and local art.

Friends of Downtown have been putting on the event for the last seven years. Friends of Downtown president Ken McCammon said he was overwhelmed with the turnout.

“It was opened up with the Tippecanoe Ancient Fife and Drum Corp with several volleys of their muskets and that woke everybody up,” said McCammon. “People have just been coming out of the woodwork, and it’s one of the biggest ones ever, and it’s great!”

McCammon said the next Mosey will be Saturday, June 14.
