Mulberry man celebrates 100 years with 5 generations

MULBERRY, Ind. (WLFI) – A man celebrated 100 years of life with friends and five generations of family Saturday afternoon in Mulberry.

Robert Johnson was joined by his six children, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great grandchildren were in attendance at the event held at the Mulberry Nursing Home.

Johnson spent most of his life working as a dairy farmer near Mulberry. He also worked in local factories in the summer time and drove a school bus when he wasn’t milking cows. His children say he was a hard working man who retired at 79. He said he was thankful to be able to celebrate the day with his family.

“I’m glad I don’t have to do another hundred,” said Johnson.

Johnson’s family continues to operate the dairy farm near town.
