TIPPECANOE CO., Ind. (WLFI) — Repairs are coming to another Tippecanoe County bridge after several crashes were reported there.

Tippecanoe County Highway Department executive director, Opal Kuhl, said the bridge at County Road 200 South and E. County Line Road sits on a piece of road that is very hilly. She said if drivers are speeding they can become airborne and crash.

On Monday, the county opened bids for a construction project that would repair the bridge including adding more guardrails.

“There have been accidents there because people are going too fast and it kind of puts them airborne,” said Kuhl. “That’s one of the things we want to fix on this bridge is both the approaches to make it safer.

Kuhl said the county has about $700,000 in its bridge fund for the project. Both bids came in under that amount.
