McCutcheon Baseball

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – McCutcheon refused to relinquish the lead against Benton Central and cruised to a 10-0 victory on their home field.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed McCutcheon to put the game away. An error during the first inning and an RBI triple by Walter Talcott, an RBI double by Tyson Scheumann, an error, and a two-run home run by Logan Sowers in the second inning supplied the early offense for McCutcheon.

McCutcheon’s Nick Walschlager kept Benton Central off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. The senior allowed no runs on three hits while striking out four.

Benton Central junior Henry Fisher couldn’t get it done for the Bison. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walking two and striking out one.

McCutcheon will be back in action Wednesday night when they travel to Westfield.
