LCSS announces $2.1 million project

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette Catholic School System announced a $2.1 million campaign Thursday to upgrade their athletic facilities.

The project is the second phase of the school system’s Building Faith & Futures Campaign. Plans include upgrades to the track, soccer practice fields and concession stands.

Lafayette Catholic Schools executive director Eric Davis said the upgrades mean they can finally host a track meet.

“The pressure is on our track coach to remain undefeated at home because we haven’t had a track, so we haven’t been able to have a home track meet for really decades. We’re excited to host a track meet here at home,” said Davis.

More than two-thirds of the money needed for the project has already been raised.

Davis said they expect the project to be complete by this fall.
