LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Purdue Boilermaker alumnus Carl Landry and Chick-fil-A have teamed up to promote active lifestyles and the upcoming Carl Landry Basketball Camp.

The Sacramento King power forward was back in town Saturday promoting the upcoming Carl Landry Basketball Camp. Landry posed for pictures and signed autographs at Chick-fil-A in Lafayette.

The Carl Landry Basketball Camp is gearing up for its sixth year in West Lafayette. The camp is designed to teach and improve kids basketball and life skills. The camp will be held July 23-25 and is for boys and girls ages 7-17.

“I’m just looking forward to having a lot of kids out there and having a lot of fun this year, because it is something unique for the city and town of Lafayette. This camp is something that I’ve been doing for several years now and is just something that I want to do to give back to the community that once gave back to me. I look forward to doing it every year, so if you have an opportunity to make it this year don’t miss it,” said Landry.

One of the unique aspects of the three-day basketball camp, which annually occurs in late July, is that the camp welcomes both girls and boys. Children are divided up in groups by age and skill level. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
