WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – The fourth annual Mind BOGgling event would have taken place rain or shine, and organizers said they’re happy the day was mostly shine.
Saturday’s event invited people of all ages to come out and explore West Lafayette’s Celery Bog.
Tippecanoe County Parks and Recreation Department naturalist Mary Cutler said experts were on hand to answer questions about the plants, birds and insects inside the bog.
Cutler said every year the event brings new people to the bog who never realized what it encompassed.
“It’s an almost 200 acre site with almost 100 acres of water, and just different plants and animals that live here,” Cutler said. “So, it’s well worth exploring.”
The event also included art demonstrations and a wildlife show. Cutler said every year they pick a new art to showcase. This year they chose fiber art.
