Pride Lafayette puts on ‘Second Chance Prom’

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Community members got the chance to go to the prom again Saturday as a part of the Second Chance Prom.

The prom was open to the public and began at 7 p.m. Saturday. It wrapped up around 1 a.m. Sunday. The event serves as a fundraiser for Pride Lafayette and included snacks, a photo spot and dancing.

This year’s prom had a disco theme with the motto, “Take a Second Chance on Me.” Pride Lafayette’s media liaison Ashley Smith said she hopes everyone is given a second chance.

“We always get a variety of folks. And this year, we hope to accomplish the same goal and give everybody an opportunity to go with who they want and dress as they feel comfortable,” said Smith.

After prom started at 11 p.m. with the crowning of a king and queen.
