WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – There were no injuries after a single-engine Cessna airplane crashed at the Purdue University Airport Saturday morning.

Purdue Director of Information Liz Evans said two people were in the plane at the time of the crash. She said the pilot was practicing touch-and-go landings when the propeller hit the pavement.

She said it is not exactly known why the propeller hit the pavement, but it’s possible the landing gear retracted.

Evans did not know if students were involved in the wreck. The Purdue Airport remained open during the incident.
